Lynn Peterson (Co-Artistic Director/Dancer) came to New York from Indiana 13 years ago. Ms. Peterson received her early training from Jordan Academy of Dance, Indianapolis Ballet Theater, Hosanna Sacred Arts, and is a graduate of SUNY Purchase. Lynn has the following inspired teachers to thank for leaving their lasting imprint within her – Laura Byram, Jennifer Ladner, Beverly Martin, Kenn & Sue Tolle, Megan Williams, Neil Greenberg, and Tarin Chaplin. Creating SYREN in 2003 and working diligently with Kate to bring and give back genuine and generous dance is an honor and is unendingly satisfying. Since then, in addition to dancing in and/or creating the 17 pieces SYREN has shared with thousands of audience members; Ms. Peterson has enjoyed teaching or setting SYREN repertory on dancers at Purchase College, Yale University, Anderson University, The Hartt School, Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, The Ethel Walker School, Performing Arts Center of Connecticut, Jordan Academy of Dance, Broad Ripple High School, Dance Arts Studio & Center of Movement Studies; and has choreographed for the acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company, Waterwell. Her work is possible thanks to unending support from Eric, her family, and friends; as well as the ever-inspiring company members of SYREN. And to Kate, for 13 years of going together step by step by step…
