Lynn
Peterson is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana where
she trained at Jordan College Academy of Dance, and performed with
Hosanna Sacred Arts, Indianapolis Ballet Theater, and Dance Kaleidoscope.
In 2002 Ms. Peterson received her B.F.A. in Dance from S.U.N.Y.
Purchase and then, alongside Kate Mehan founded SYREN. The company
has performed on the Inside/Out Series at the Jacob's Pillow Dance
Festival, at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, White Plains Performing
Arts Center, University Settlement, Whitewave, The Remember Project,
LEAP! Festival, d.u.m.b.o. Arts Under the Bridge Festival, Oasis
Festival, Dogs Days of Dance Festival, SWEAT Outdoors Series, Choreographers'
Workshop, Dansereye 3, and the CT Meets NY Dance Fest. Ms. Peterson
has enjoyed serving as Guest Faculty/Commissioned Choreographer
at Rye Neck High School, The Greater Hartford Academy for the Arts,
The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, The Performing Arts Center
of Connecticut, Anderson University, Broad Ripple High School, and
for the, Drama Desk Award Nominated theater company, Waterwell.
Lynn is inspired daily and deeply by her ever loving husband, family,
family of friends, and by the artists in this company. She is impassioned
to share a lifetime of dance with audiences through her work with
SYREN.
