SYREN is available to teach master classes to dancers including modern technique, modern partnering, improvisation, and composition. Artistic Directors Lynn Peterson and Kate St. Amand can offer the unique experience of team teaching any of the above classes as well as teaching SYREN repertory workshops or setting repertory on students for performances.

Class work movement exercises emphasizing connecting to the natural force of the weight of the body, musical specificity, focus, and transitions will guide a thorough and dynamic warm-up. Students (particularly advanced level students) will also be encouraged to make their own choices through assignments in movement manipulation, variation, development, creation, and more! The moment of movement is inspiring to witness.

“Kate Mehan and Lynn Peterson have been an inspirational part of our Summer Dance Intensives, Master Classes and teaching program at the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut. Our dancers always find something new and exciting in their classes and choreography. Their personal approach to teaching each student – at every level – is a wonderful example of true artists giving back to their community. We welcome Kate and Lynn back whenever they have the time to share their talents with us!”-Catherine LaChioma
