Dancer, Understudy since 2018
Alice Chacon is from New York City. She began her formal dance training at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts (the “Fame” school). She also trained at the New York Chinese Cultural Center (NYCCC) in Chinese Classical and Folk dance to stay close to her roots, as she was adopted from China when she was an infant. After graduating from high school, she furthered her training at the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase College where she received her B.F.A. in Dance. Here, Alice had the pleasure of working with choreographers such as Adam Barruch, Dylan Crossman, Shannon Gillen, Doug Varone, Sue Bernhard, Alexandra Beller, Deborah Lohse and more. Furthermore, she was selected to study abroad for a semester at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA), where she worked with Yongjing Li, Iratxe Ansa, and Dam Van Huynh. Alice is also a dance photographer. She has worked alongside Sidra Bell Dance New York and UANA DANS in her photography and film. Lastly, Alice was a winner of the 2018 Dance On Camera Film Festival and had her dance film shown at Lincoln Center. This is her first season with SYREN as an understudy.
